This is post worthy! Well..I had 4 hours off, actually. Really, I am very busy with school and work and searching for an apartment in Amsterdam for my internship.

This is quite big. I knew Maroon 5 was going to play in the HMH in Amsterdam the 28th of Februari long before this all and I never bought any tickets. Stupid, I know, because I love them since before they even became Maroon 5. So last weekend I was working and was listening to Radio 538 and they got a Maroon 5-win-tickets-weekend. So I called and..there.. I won two tickets plus the latest album ‘Hands All Over’. (Thank you, guys!)

So Monday night was the night. Unfortunately I had a bad night before without any sleep, but I couldn’t let this concert to just go like that. So I went with Rabia. We got to eat something at Van Dam, went on a light shopping spree..although I didn’t get to buy anything. We got in Amsterdam late in the afternoon. I guessed Adam (Levine) was getting another tattoo right that second and later that night I found out on Twitter I was right. It had been almost 4 years since the last time I saw them, so you can imagine that I was really looking forward to it!

So we got a salad on our way to the HMH in the subway and when we got there, there were already a lot of girls and guys(!). There were even many older couples..I’m talking about the age of 50.
I got our tickets at the 538 stand and got a seat, because we were both not feeling well. Normally I would be on the field, as I did in 2007.
The concert started at 8 o’clock precisely, starting with Sara Bareilles. She sang wonderfully and sounds amazing live. She sang her hits and did a cover of ‘Yellow’ by Coldplay and ‘Fuck You’ be Cee Lo Green. She filled 45 minutes of great music and then at 21.10u Maroon 5 came on stage and started with Misery from their new album. I’ll get you the setlist later on!
I found out they had another member while on tour, PJ Morton and I was so thrilled to just sing along with all the songs and see them rock there guitars, keys and drums.
Adam covered’ Let’s Stay Together’ (Al Green) and ‘What’s Love Got To Do’ (Tina Turner). They got the audience to sing with the oldies from Songs About Jane. I always have loved their live guitar duals and last night was a blast.

They got an encore with ‘Makes Me Wonder’ and finishing with ‘Sunday Morning’.

To be honest, it went quite fast, not too many interactions but enough (to ‘shut up’ as I heard people sang with Stutter), but there was one about the girls screaming so high and the guys being vocal on a very low level and Adam said that the girls screaming that high was stupid haha.
I wasn’t too keen about the way ‘She Will Be Loved’ was performed, but hey, I understand with knowing they have to do that particular song every single concert. I loved Adam told us the concert was being recorded, so I am really hoping for a special Maroon 5 Amsterdam edition to get on my iPod.

I wanted to hear ‘Hands All Over’ and ‘Sweetest Goodbye’ live as the last song wasn’t the encore in 2007, but they didn’t do any of them.
I needed some of Adam Levine’s Dutch!
Other than that, I’m just spoiled and they were absolutely amazing plus congrats to Adam for getting to be a coach on NBC’s ‘The Voice’!!

XO M

P.S. I’ll post some pics and the setlist later on!

Something extra: Sara Bareilles just got her music video of ‘Uncharted’ online with a lot of cameos! http://vids.perezhilton.com/plugins/player.swf?v=3a87b542564c3&p=vega4-without-ads-transparent-flp&autoplay=true

Maybe summer is over?

Yes, indeed. Although, it was quite warm outside in Amsterdam. University has started again and I have to be honest: I couldn’t be more happier. I was sick and tired of the summer. I’ve worked almost all summer and at the end of August I took two weeks off for driving lessons. I failed with the exam, because the examiner and I disagreed about something. BUT I will do a retake soon and I’ll set my mind to pass this time!

I promiss and I will blog more often from now on. Visiting sets(I hope!), music reviews (definitely!),movie premieres (I hope!), explaining entertainment job and loads more.

A new television season has started. Which means new Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries. So I’ll be fine for the next couple of months.

More to come, so stay here!

Exit KX, enter summer!

So it has been more than a month that I had my last day at KX Radio. It has been a busy and educational ten weeks. I will miss a lot of people I have worked with! You’ve been a great support and help.
But I also started working again, so enjoying every aspect of the summer is not in it for me! (Although I did get tanned, so no complaining.)

I am planning to do my final internship in the UK at a big production company. Either with films or shows, I’m very much interested in both! I changed my CV into an English one and I have written letters. Now let’s just wait and see what they can do for me!

I need to get my driving license very soon. Actually before the start of the new year at university, so that is what I am working for. I am starting on August 14 for a ten day course! Cross all your fingers and toes for me, because that is what I’ll need :)
I am also going to the third year, so I am kind of proud of myself!
And I will be 21 next month, so there is a lot to look forward to!

I am not going anywhere this summer, but to everyone who does or is, enjoy it as much as you can! I am going to watch Inception. I heard it’s a hell of a movie!

p.s. two songs:
Crossfire – Brandon Flowers (The Killers)

Maroon 5 – Misery

How awesome! I got to meet The Asteroids Galaxy Tour on May 8th, right here in The Hague! For KX TV, RJ without Rhee got to interview Mette Lindberg. Even I ended up in the clip. Enjoy!

Mavis on KX Radio

Gladly not a full show, because it’d suck instantly. Not with my choice of music, but would you want me to fill 2 hours on the radio? Idonthinkso.

RJ & Rhee gave me my own thing in their show.. don’t know what it’s called, though.. for now it starts with Mavis the Pevis..sucks pretty bad guys and you should come up with something better soon!

The first time I announced the new OneRepublic single called Secrets. I better hope for OR that they will bring this one out first, before Waking Up. But I guess so, because they already have an official clip for it!

And last week I had N.E.R.D. ft. Nelly Furtado with Hot ‘N Fun! Has a good beat, love it! And below I have the official music video for that song!

Tomorrow at RJ & Rhee on KX Radio ( LISTEN HERE between 19 and 21h, I will let you hear a new song by a band I adore for a lot of years now and no, it’s not Maroon 5 :)

Alive ‘nd Kickin’

I am. Sorry to have kept you waiting! I’ve been way too busy with everything, that I did not post a single thing here.

It’s been a blast so far. Not a day without work, as it should be. But it sometimes tires me so much, working 6 days a week, that my personal and also social life has been the last thing to think about. I still love you guys!

The first day as an intern I was at a premiere of the Dutch movie ‘De Gelukkige Huisvrouw’ (The Happy Housewife, it sounds like a comedy but it is not!). Check it out below!

Stressed out? Never!

So, I finished three exams last week. It were Journalism, Trends in the Media and Concept and Production Online Media. They weren’t that easy, so I have no idea what my results are. I have a couple of retakes this week. They should not be so hard! It’s just a matter of studying :)
Tomorrow is the deadline for the final assigment of Journalism. Two weeks ago, Antonie Kamerling, a Dutch actor, came to uni to give a pressconference about a new movie. I had to write something about it, just as interviewing a former student and then I’m done with uni and I can start with my internship at RJ en Rhee at KX Radio! Looking forward to it! School sometimes gives me so much stress, that working in a different environment has to be a good thing!

I will keep you posted!
